Hello! My name is Ayaka. I am originally from Tokyo, Japan. I came to the Czech Republic in 2024 to seek further professional development, particularly in the field of education. I have always been passionate about languages and education from a young age.

During my undergraduate studies, I specialised in English language and culture whilst completing a teacher training course, which equipped me with advanced language skills and teaching certificate for English at junior high school and high school level in Japan. 

The experience gave me a strong awareness of how languages shape our identity and, most importantly, their potential to connect people. My interest in language encouraged me to pursue postgraduate studies, and I graduated from the University of Leeds in the UK with a Master’s degree in Professional Language and Intercultural Studies, specialising in English translation. 

After completing my Master’s, I worked as an English teacher, offering English conversational lessons and facilitating an English pronunciation course for Japanese students. In the classroom, I strive to create a positive and effective learning environment by combining my language expertise with a range of hands-on activities. My ultimate goal is to help children become confident English speakers by nurturing their inner curiosity for learning.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy walking in nature, visiting cozy cafés (I have a sweet tooth!), and exploring new places. I am excited to continue discovering the new perspectives in the Czech Republic and to grow personally and professionally through my experiences with children and inspiring people around me.
